I am a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra. I received my PhD in Public Health from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa in 2021. I do research on developmental psychopathology and adolescent risk behaviors using latent variable statistical methods.

Recently, I had the opportunity to comment on a paper by Evans et al. 2020 published in Addiction. One of the findings that interested me was that psychosomatic problems were associated with adolescent substance use.
